Key Responsibilities
As the Fast Food Supervisor, you will be accountable for day-to-day store operations, staff coordination, product quality, and front-line customer satisfaction. Your leadership and efficiency will directly impact sales, service reputation, and staff productivity.
Operational Oversight:
- Supervise daily restaurant operations, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and safety compliance.
- Monitor and control food prep areas, equipment use, and sanitation standards in compliance with public health regulations.
- Ensure timely delivery of customer orders, particularly during high-traffic hours.
- Verify stock levels for key items like chicken, fries, drinks, sauces, and disposables.
Staff Supervision & Training:
- Lead and coordinate kitchen and front-counter teams, typically 5–10 staff per shift.
- Conduct on-the-job training, reinforcing SOPs for new hires and junior crew.
- Assign daily workstations, balancing skill levels and speed requirements.
- Motivate staff to meet individual and team performance goals.
Customer Service Leadership:
- Address customer queries, feedback, and complaints with courtesy and problem-solving initiative.
- Maintain dining area organization, from table clearing to customer queue flow.
- Upsell promotions and combo meals tactfully through staff briefings.
- Ensure positive dining experiences, encouraging repeat business.
Inventory & Quality Assurance:
- Track inventory usage, reporting low stock or excessive waste to management.
- Conduct end-of-shift and weekly inventory audits, updating stock cards.
- Ensure adherence to food portioning guides and quality benchmarks.
- Inspect raw and cooked food quality before serving.
Cash Handling & Reporting:
- Monitor cash register activity, reconcile discrepancies, and supervise end-of-day settlement.
- Prepare basic sales summaries and shift turnover reports for handover.
- Enforce anti-theft procedures, register closing SOPs, and voucher reconciliations.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure HACCP guidelines are applied in handling and storage.
- Conduct regular handwashing checks, PPE enforcement, and sanitization routines.
- Support inspection readiness for public health officers or internal audits.
Collaboration with Management:
- Attend weekly manager meetings, sharing shift performance data.
- Offer suggestions for menu optimization, promotional activities, or customer engagement.
- Support new branch openings or staff redeployments when needed.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma or Certificate in Hotel & Catering Management, Hospitality, or Business Administration.
- At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a fast-food, restaurant, or hospitality setup.
- Solid understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and customer service etiquette.
- Proficient in POS systems, cash handling, and basic stocktaking procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team, resolve conflicts, and optimize operations.
Desirable Attributes:
- Knowledge of Halal compliance practices is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with Nairobi-based restaurant regulations and licensing requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
