Key Responsibilities

Inline Assembly Quality Control:

  • Conduct rigorous inspections at multiple stages of the vehicle assembly process to ensure compliance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and internal quality standards.
  • Approve or reject vehicle components and assemblies based on established quality benchmarks.
  • Document all identified defects accurately and maintain comprehensive inspection records.
  • Collaborate with assembly technicians to resolve real-time quality issues, ensuring immediate corrective actions are taken where feasible.

Assembly Documentation Management:

  • Prepare and issue vehicle-specific documentation for assembly line teams.
  • Ensure proper and complete documentation by assembly technicians using provided quality check sheets.
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of documentation for every unit assembled.

Data Collection and Defect Analysis:

  • Collect and analyse inspection data to identify patterns, defect trends, and root causes.
  • Maintain detailed inspection logs to support long-term process improvement and reporting needs.
  • Generate daily defect rate reports and submit findings to the Quality Assurance Coordinator.
  • Interpret defect data to support strategic quality enhancement initiatives.

Feedback and Reporting:

  • Provide immediate quality feedback to production teams and supervisors during live assembly operations.
  • Communicate quality findings and corrective recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports summarising defect types, frequencies, and recommended solutions.

Process Improvement Initiatives:

  • Identify opportunities to improve quality inspection processes and assembly line workflows.
  • Develop and refine inspection checklists and quality protocols to standardise inspection routines.
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement preventive measures aimed at reducing recurring defects.

Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Actions:

  • Lead root cause investigations on severe or repetitive defects observed during end-of-line inspections or product audits.
  • Implement effective corrective actions and monitor their outcomes over time.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with safety standards and best manufacturing practices during quality assurance activities.

Qualifications and Skills

Academic Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, preferably Automotive, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Professional certification in Quality Control is highly advantageous.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ practical experience in quality control within a busy vehicle assembly or manufacturing environment.
  • Direct experience conducting vehicle inspections in an industrial automotive plant is strongly preferred.
  • Must be a fully experienced and certified driver.
