Expert Tips for Success as a Mechatronics Technician Intern: A Shortlister’s Perspective
As a recruiter shortlisting for the Mechatronics Technician Intern role at Solenis via Flexi Personnel, I prioritize applications that demonstrate hands-on PLC/HMI exposure, EHS awareness, and customer-ready professionalism. With a 75% rejection rate due to generic CVs or lack of pump/automation projects, these 10 tips are designed to place your application in the top 5%. Each tip provides realistic, impactful examples for your CV, cover letter, and interview, explaining why they work.
Tip 1: Lead with a Quantified PLC/HMI Project
Why It Works: Recruiters seek proof of PLC skills—40% of shortlists go to candidates with specific automation projects. A CV opening with a measurable outcome (e.g., “Programmed PLC reducing downtime 30%”) grabs attention.
CV Example:
“Programmed Siemens S7-1200 PLC as Mechatronics Intern candidate at XYZ Ltd, reducing pump downtime 30%.”
Why: This quantifies your technical impact, aligning with Solenis’ fault diagnosis needs.
Cover Letter Example:
“As Mechatronics student at JKUAT, I built an HMI dashboard for a dosing pump—now used in lab training.”
Why: It connects your academic project to real-world application.
Interview Example:
