Key Responsibilities

  • Participant Enrollment: Assist in selecting and enrolling households into the R4N program using agreed criteria.
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Provide 18-month coaching and monitoring to help ultra-poor, nutritionally vulnerable households escape poverty and malnutrition.
  • Group Formation: Organize participants into business groups, livestock aggregation groups, or savings groups as per program design.
  • Business Support: Help households establish and run profitable businesses delivering goods, services, and information to last-mile communities.
  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with participants and local leaders to foster self-motivation and agency.
  • Nutritional Support: Collaborate with Community Health Promoters (CHPs) and Assistants (CHAs) for monthly nutritional screenings and referrals for Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) cases.
  • Group Activities: Conduct monthly coaching for savings groups, business mentorship, and capacity building, including financial literacy and market linkages.
  • Education and Counseling: Deliver monthly sessions on nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC), and livelihood diversification.
  • Coordination: Work with USAID Nawiri frontline workers to address Persistent Acute Malnutrition (PAM) and participate in health facility data review meetings.

Program Monitoring and Reporting

  • Data Collection: Gather data to track progress of individuals, households, business groups, and savings groups toward graduation.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure adherence to data quality standards as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SoP).
  • Performance Tracking: Maintain monthly key performance indicators for households, business groups, and savings groups.
  • Tool Management: Use assigned monitoring and data collection tools as guided by Field Officer, M&E, and IT departments.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Keep tablets and motorcycles in good condition, submitting fuel logs and repair reports on time.
  • Visit Preparation: Prepare participants for visits by BHA (Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance) and other stakeholders.
  • Meetings: Attend weekly, monthly, and quarterly review, reflection, and planning meetings.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Diploma in Community Health and Nutrition, Public Health, Community Development, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum two years in community work, with proven data collection experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Valid motorcycle license (A1/A2) with riding experience.
    • Basic experience with mobile data collection and Microsoft Office.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent communication, empathy, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and utilize data for decision-making.
  • Other Requirements: Must be a resident of the respective village (South Horr, Moru, Opiroi, Lodokejek, Kirimon, or Laresoro).
