Introduction
The Institute for Social Accountability (TISA) is recruiting qualified professionals to strengthen its ICT and citizen engagement workstreams. The Institute for Social Accountability (TISA) is a Kenyan civil society organization established in 2008 and registered as a local trust. TISA works to promote accountable governance and effective public policy in local development to uplift the livelihoods of poor and marginalized communities. Through research, advocacy, citizen engagement, and strategic communications, TISA advances transparency, participation, and accountability in public finance and governance processes.
1. ICT Officer (Nairobi – 1 Post)
Brief Overview:
The ICT Officer will ensure the smooth, secure, and efficient operation of TISA’s ICT infrastructure, systems, and hardware, while leading internal systems administration and managing digital platforms and outreach tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth, secure, and efficient operation of all TISA’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure, systems, and hardware.
- Serve as the technical lead for internal systems and the primary administrator for TISA’s website and digital outreach platforms.
- Bridge the gap between technical stability and creative visibility across digital platforms.
- Support website and app development, including front-end and back-end coding.
- Support podcast production and other digital projects.
- Maintain network performance and update software systems.
- Manage ICT assets and assist with data backups.
- Ensure data is handled securely in line with TISA policies and the Data Protection Act.
Requirements for Appointment / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience in ICT systems administration, website management, and digital platforms.
- Knowledge of data security, backups, and ICT asset management.

2. CIIM Campaigns Assistant (Nairobi – 1 Post)
Brief Overview:
The CIIM Campaigns Assistant will support advocacy campaigns by amplifying citizen voices, producing multimedia content, managing digital platforms, and strengthening public engagement with TISA’s work.
Duties and Responsibilities
Communication Support
- Assist in developing the planning and execution of grassroots, national and international advocacy campaigns aligned with TISA’s objectives.
- Develop targeted communication plans, message briefs and campaign toolkits for specific campaigns.
- Track and report on performance of various campaigns using various matrices.
- Support the production and dissemination of simplified educational content (videos, posters, and infographics).
- Edit and format TISA’s communication materials including newsletters, reports, success stories and press releases.
- Contribute to planning and executing communication strategies for TISA’s advocacy campaigns.
- Assist in producing podcasts, including research, scripting, recording, editing, and publishing episodes.
- Ensure all communication is factual, ethical and adheres to the brand identity and specification.
- Assist in aligning communication to policy, diverse audience and donor and coalition partners standards.
Content Creation
- Design high-quality and engaging visuals for social media, reports, event promotion, and campaigns.
- Film and edit short videos and reels for digital platforms, especially interviews and explainers for reports and events.
- Maintain a multimedia content library that supports TISA’s storytelling and advocacy.
Social Media & Community Engagement
- Draft, schedule and post content across all TISA social media handles and related TISA-led campaign handles.
- Support content scheduling and publishing on platforms such as X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Monitor follower interactions, respond to comments/messages, and encourage online dialogue.
- Collaborate with program teams to promote events, publications, initiatives, and podcast episodes.
- Monitor media and social media chatter relevant to TISA’s work and flag emerging opportunities and reputational risks.
- Generate monthly communication tracking and performance reports, analyzing reach, engagement and content effectiveness.
- Stay up to date on emerging trends in digital communications, social media, and podcasting.
Requirements for Appointment / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in campaigns, digital content creation, or communications.
- Experience in social media management, podcast production, and multimedia content creation.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in video and audio editing tools such as Adobe Premiere, CapCut, Canva, or similar.
- Strong graphic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
- Familiarity with social media analytics tools (Meta Insights, Google Analytics, Excel).
- Understanding of public policy, governance, or development issues is an added advantage.
