Key Responsibilities
The role of Data Analyst involves a range of advanced responsibilities across analytics, visualization, systems integration, and stakeholder collaboration. You will work with diverse datasets to provide strategic intelligence and support real-time decision-making.
1. Data Analytics and Operational Intelligence
- Analyze manufacturing, production, and inventory data to identify inefficiencies, cost drivers, and performance bottlenecks.
- Build and manage KPI dashboards using tools like Power BI and Tableau, measuring metrics such as output rates, defect percentages, machine utilization, and workforce productivity.
- Translate raw data into business recommendations, supported by statistical analysis and visual storytelling.
2. Predictive Modeling and Risk Mitigation
- Implement predictive maintenance models by analyzing historical equipment failure data.
- Apply regression analysis, clustering, and time-series forecasting to inform capacity planning and resource allocation.
- Run simulations to assess the impact of process changes, system upgrades, or external market shocks.
3. Cross-Functional Team Support
- Partner with engineering, operations, finance, and logistics teams to align data analytics with organizational goals.
- Lead workshops and meetings to present findings, gather feedback, and foster a data-driven culture.
- Support procurement and inventory teams with stock-level forecasting and supplier performance analysis.
4. ERP and MES System Integration
- Ensure clean, consistent data across enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics.
- Collaborate with IT departments to streamline data flows between manufacturing execution systems (MES) and cloud-based analytics platforms.
- Automate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using tools like Python, SQL scripts, and APIs.
5. Data Governance and Compliance
- Maintain data integrity, privacy, and security across platforms in line with GDPR and corporate policy.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data handling, reporting, and analysis.
- Create audit trails and metadata records for key reports and dashboards to support regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or a related analytical field.
- Minimum of 4 years’ professional experience in data analysis, ideally within a manufacturing, supply chain, or logistics environment.
Technical Proficiencies
- Advanced SQL for data querying, stored procedures, and report automation.
- Expert-level Excel skills, including Power Query, pivot tables, dashboards, and VBA macros.
- Programming experience in Python or R for statistical analysis, data wrangling, and machine learning applications.
- Hands-on experience with BI platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Comfort with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
