Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present exquisite dishes that align with Sierra’s premium culinary standards
- Execute mise en place tasks to ensure all stations are ready for high-volume service
- Follow strict recipe guidelines and presentation aesthetics to maintain brand consistency
- Refine and contribute to the evolution of menu items and seasonal offerings
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and sanitation procedures in compliance with HACCP standards
- Monitor and log food temperatures, expiry dates, and stock rotation accuracy
- Collaborate with sous chefs, kitchen stewards, and other team members for smooth service delivery
- Report kitchen hazards or equipment failures to the Head Chef promptly
- Assist in inventory checks and ensure accurate stock usage
- Reduce wastage by ensuring portion control and efficient ingredient usage
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts, Food Production, or Hospitality Management
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in fine dining or high-end kitchen environments
- Valid Food Handler’s Certificate or a comparable culinary credential
- Age requirement: 21–35 years old at the time of application
- Proficiency in English is mandatory; fluency in Swahili is an added advantage
- Highly skilled in preparing modern European cuisine, grill, sauté, pastry, and cold sections
- Strong multitasking abilities, especially in fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen setups
- Excellent attention to detail in food presentation, hygiene, and execution
- Adaptable, punctual, and reliable, with a passion for culinary innovation
