About Kisii Smart Community (Songa Mobility)
Kisii Smart Community (KSC), operated by East African Smart Villages and Rural Mobility Limited under the Songa Mobility brand, is a pioneering Kenyan social enterprise dedicated to enhancing rural livelihoods through sustainable electric mobility and smart village solutions. Launched as a pilot with support from the Toyota Mobility Foundation, the organization deploys solar-powered electric trikes equipped with cold chain capabilities to provide affordable first- and last-mile logistics, reducing post-harvest losses for smallholder farmers in dairy, banana, and local vegetable value chains.
With operations centered in Kisii, Nyamira, Bomet, and Narok counties, KSC integrates off-grid renewable energy, IoT-enabled technologies, and innovative digital platforms to facilitate market access, farmer training, and productive energy use.
