1. High School Kiswahili / History Teacher (Eldoret – 1 Post)
Brief Overview:
The High School Kiswahili / History Teacher will deliver engaging, enquiry-based Kiswahili and History lessons aligned with the Kenyan curriculum while supporting academic excellence, character development, and holistic student growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and deliver exceptional, real world, enquiry-based Kiswahili / History lessons that align with the Kenya curriculum requirements.
- Maintain positive, constructive and professional relationships with students, their families and colleagues.
- Develop lesson plans and partner with the Learning Design Team in reviewing and updating lessons when required/desired.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, developmentally appropriate, organized, and focused.
- Infuse joy and passion for learning in lessons to promote academic excellence.
- Provide necessary accommodations and modifications for the growth and success of all students.
- Be accountable for students’ mastery of content and academic standards.
- Integrate interactive technology into lessons to enhance instructional delivery.
- Set and communicate rigorous goals for students and provide effective feedback.
- Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior and model expected behaviour at all times.
- Consistently meet the ambitious goals of a rapidly-growing organization.
- Serve as teacher on duty and/or boarding teacher on duty and support school-wide behavior programs.
- Timely capture of student academic data and communicate progress to families and stakeholders.
- Support clubs, societies, and co-curricular enrichment programs.
- Serve as a homeroom teacher when required.
Requirements for Appointment / Qualifications
- Teachers Service Commission (TSC) certification.
- Relevant Degree in Education with specialization in Kiswahili and History.
- Strictly a minimum of three (3) years teaching experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility and openness to change in dynamic environments.
- Strong problem-solving and proactive mindset.
- Strong alignment with Nova Pioneer’s organizational culture and values.
