Introduction
Education Cannot Wait (ECW), the UN global fund for education in emergencies and protracted crises hosted by UNICEF, is recruiting 5 Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Interns through batch recruitment to support data analysis, reporting, and knowledge synthesis for the 2025 Annual Results Report and other initiatives. Interns will review programme reports, code qualitative/quantitative data, conduct research, support learning exchanges, and strengthen information systems.
Requiring enrollment in Master’s (or recent Bachelor’s/Master’s graduate within 3 years), background in education/humanitarian/social sciences, quantitative/qualitative analysis skills (Excel required; R/PowerQuery/STATA advantage), and lived experience in LMIC preferred, this 5–6 month full-time internship (remote with Geneva/NY office option) offers USD 1,700 monthly stipend (or local equivalent) and flexible hours. Purpose of the Internship
Under guidance of ECW Director and direct supervision of M&E staff, interns provide technical support for data collection/analysis/dissemination while learning organizational processes enabling ECW workplan implementation.
Interns manage portfolio of ECW programmes (by geography/language/thematic expertise), review/code reports/datasets for 2025 Annual Results Report, conduct research, support learning, and strengthen data systems.

- Support 2025 Annual Results Report
- Data quality checks of programme reports/databases.
- Follow-up with grantees/managers on reporting.
- Code qualitative data for outcome changes.
- Draft sections on strategic objectives/education outcomes.
- Knowledge Synthesis & Learning
- Background research/literature reviews on EiE.
- Program reviews/mapping via evidence database.
- Qualitative data collection (interviews/FGDs).
- Design/facilitate learning exchanges/webinars.
- Synthesize findings into briefs/blogs/presentations.
- Data Systems & Information Management
- Manage databases/tracking tools for knowledge products.
- Support rollout/testing of new IM platform.
- Other Duties as assigned (possible individual project mid-internship).
To Qualify
- At least 18 years old.
- Enrolled in Master’s OR graduated Bachelor’s/Master’s within past 3 years.
- Academic background in education, humanitarian/development, social sciences.
- Quantitative/qualitative analysis (solid Excel; R/PowerQuery/STATA advantage).
- Academic/professional experience synthesizing reports (EiE advantage).
- Lived experience in LMIC preferred.
- Fluent English (highest standard); French/Spanish plus.
- No immediate relatives in UNICEF/ECW.
- Not disqualified under UNICEF Child Safeguarding.
