Targeting successful trainees from the nationwide classroom program, this phase will distribute KSh 25,000 to nearly 50,000 beneficiaries across 27 counties, including direct deposits for immediate business use and forced savings for long-term security.
Backed by the State Department for MSMEs Development, the NYOTA Project (National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement) continues to deliver on its promise to enhance employability, earnings, and savings for youth aged 18-29 (up to 35 for PWDs). If you are a registered NYOTA trainee awaiting disbursement, mark your county’s event date – Phase 2 launches today (8th January 2026) and includes mentorship, further training, and market linkages for lasting impact.
About National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA)
The NYOTA Project is a flagship Government of Kenya program, financed by the World Bank, designed to empower over 800,000 vulnerable youth nationwide by improving access to employment, increasing earnings, and promoting savings habits. Implemented through the State Department for MSMEs Development, NYOTA provides business skills training, start-up capital, mentorship, and ecosystem support to youth across all 1,450 wards.
With a focus on sustainable enterprise development, the project has already completed nationwide training and the first disbursement phase (Western Cluster in November 2025). Phase 2 targets 27 counties, followed by Phase 3 for the remaining 16. Events are graced by high-level leadership, including H.E.
