About Heroes for HER Foundation
Heroes for HER Foundation is a registered Kenyan non-profit dedicated to empowering women and adolescent girls in underserved communities. Through mentorship, vocational training, menstrual-health advocacy, and micro-enterprise grants, the foundation equips beneficiaries with the tools they need to break cycles of poverty and become agents of change. Since 2015 Heroes for HER has:
- Distributed 30,000+ reusable sanitary-pad kits and delivered menstrual-health workshops in 140 schools.
- Trained 2,700 young women in digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
- Funded 210 micro-enterprise start-ups ranging from organic-soap production to eco-fashion brands.
- Partnered with 45 corporate and civil-society allies—including Impact Hub Nairobi, Girl Effect, and UN Women—to scale outreach nationwide.
With ambassadors in Nairobi, Kisumu, Eldoret, Mombasa, and diaspora hubs, Heroes for HER relies on a cohesive digital presence to unite its global volunteer network. The incoming volunteer will steward that presence, ensuring every project milestone resonates across Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging channels.
Key Responsibilities

- Draft weekly content calendars aligned to thematic pillars—education, health, entrepreneurship, gender-based violence prevention, and climate resilience.
- Maintain brand tone while tailoring copy length, emoji usage, and hashtags for each platform.
- Campaign strategy & analytics:
- Co-design quarterly social-impact campaigns (#PeriodPower, #FinanceHERFuture, #TechQueens KE).
- Set SMART KPIs (reach, click-through, share-of-voice) and generate monthly analytics dashboards via Meta Business Suite and LinkedIn Analytics.

- Community management & engagement:
- Respond courteously to DMs, mentions, and comment threads within 24 hours, ensuring conversations remain mission-aligned.

- Moderate private Facebook Group (2,800 members) and WhatsApp broadcast list (7,500 contacts).
- Visual-content production:
- Liaise with volunteer photographers/videographers to capture field-visit footage.
- Edit short-form videos in CapCut/Adobe Premiere Rush; design static graphics via Canva or Adobe Express.
- Uphold WCAG accessibility guidelines—alt-text, captions, colour contrast, and descriptive hashtags.
- Knowledge management & training:
- Document workflow SOPs in Google Drive and Notion to onboard future interns.
- Host quarterly digital-skills webinars for beneficiaries eager to monetise content creation.
- Stay abreast of algorithm updates, AI-assisted editing tools, and Kenyan social-media trends, sharing learnings with staff.
