Couples Information

Peace Corps Kenya welcomes couples serving together. Both partners must qualify for one of the following projects: Community Health Facilitator, High School Math Educator, High School Science Educator, or Educator for the Deaf. Couples in different sectors may live in separate training villages during the 10-week Pre-Service Training (PST) and attend different compulsory trainings. Couples in the same sector live with the same host family during PST. After PST, all couples live together in host communities but work at different organizations. Unmarried couples should present themselves as married due to cultural expectations in Kenya. Same-sex couples cannot serve in Kenya due to restrictive laws.
