Internship Overview: What to Expect
Learning Objectives
As part of the internship program, you will:
- Gain a deep understanding of how corporate finance functions in a multi-branch business environment
- Receive hands-on training on ERP systems, ledger reconciliation, and financial compliance

Core Responsibilities
Your daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger for accuracy and audit readiness
- Support Cash Office Operations such as handling petty cash and posting receipts
- Assist in Bank Reconciliations to ensure cashbook records match banking data
- Manage Cash Book Entries, recording and monitoring cash inflows and outflows
- Participate in Job Costing Exercises, assigning and analyzing project or service costs
- Prepare Draft Management Accounts, collaborating on periodic reporting cycles
- Support Credit Management, including customer account reviews and debt tracking
- Update the Creditors Ledger, processing vendor invoices and validating payments
- Ensure Compliance with Regulatory and Internal Policies, supporting audit readiness and accountability

Candidate Profile: Qualifications and Requirements
Academic Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from a recognized university
- Minimum achievement of Upper Second-Class Honors
- Must be fully certified CPA (K) or hold a full ACCA qualification
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems such as SAP or Oracle is an added advantage
- Strong understanding of financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliation practices
