Key Responsibilities

Creative Development

• Design and produce a 1–2 minute animated video that embodies the transformative power of language in reshaping the FGM narrative.
• Collaborate with the Communications Lead and programme team to co-create storylines and emotional tone aligned with survivor-centered messaging.

Visual and Technical Execution

• Visualize diverse African settings that authentically portray local environments while centering women and girls as empowered figures.
• Incorporate minimal yet impactful text overlays to enhance the video’s messaging.
• Integrate sound, music, or narration that aligns with and strengthens the emotional resonance of the animation.
• Deliver the animation in multiple formats: MP4 for broadcasting, vertical and square formats for social media.
• Revise according to stakeholder feedback while adhering to deadline commitments.
• Align the final product with TGG-ALM’s ethical standards, including Do No Harm principles.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

• Professional experience in animation, motion graphics, or video storytelling for social change.
• Track record of producing short-form explainer, advocacy, or nonprofit video content.
• Proficiency in visual design tools and motion software (e.g., After Effects, Adobe Premiere, Illustrator).
• Deep understanding of sensitive storytelling on issues like gender-based violence, social norms, or community empowerment.
• Creative ability to convey strong emotional impact with minimal visual complexity.
• Collaborative mindset to work through ideation, scripting, and editing loops with the programme team.
• Detail-oriented approach with a strong commitment to timelines and technical specifications.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with FGM, gender-based violence, or human rights frameworks in Africa.
• Experience working on ngo internship projects or nonprofit communications campaigns.
• Ability to deliver multi-language or voiceover-inclusive formats.
• Demonstrated understanding of African cultural and regional visual styles.
