Key Responsibilities

As a Brand Development Specialist, your core duties will be anchored around three major projects: Portfolio Segmentation, Social Media Strategy, and the Shujaa Initiatives. You will be expected to:

1. Portfolio Segmentation

  • Map and categorize the brand portfolio based on audience needs, business units, and program goals.
  • Drive clarity and consistency across products and initiatives, ensuring clear communication of brand values.
  • Align portfolio messaging with company-wide strategies and future expansion goals.

2. Social Media Strategy

  • Design and execute an integrated social media calendar, aligning campaigns with business milestones and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop content pillars and messaging frameworks to guide platform-specific strategies (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, etc.).
  • Track analytics and KPIs to measure performance and adjust strategies for reach, engagement, and conversion.

3. Shujaa Initiatives

  • Support the branding and visibility of the Shujaa programme, including CI development, positioning, and storytelling.
  • Coordinate the creation of brand assets for summits, training events, and youth outreach campaigns.
  • Build compelling value propositions for Mega Shujaas and platform stakeholders.
  • Establish trademarking pathways and compliance guidelines for Shujaa-related intellectual property.

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with HR, communications, and partnerships teams to ensure brand alignment across departments.
  • Educate internal teams on product differentiations and brand tone of voice.
  • Respond to client and public enquiries, ensuring a positive brand image is consistently portrayed.

5. Risk, Execution & Reporting

  • Identify brand-related risks and mitigation tactics across all programs.
  • Manage campaign execution timelines, ensuring milestones are met across deliverables.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports with visual analytics, key learnings, and improvement recommendations.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Brand Management, Communications, or a closely related field.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in brand development, marketing, or content strategy.
  • Experience in the Agri-industry or youth-focused programmes is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in digital marketing tools, Canva, social media scheduling software, and basic photo/video editing tools.
  • Understanding of brand CI/VI development and experience working with designers.
  • Good grasp of project management principles and multitasking in deadline-driven environments.

Interpersonal Competencies

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work across teams.
  • Creative thinker who can bring new ideas while aligning with organizational brand values.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting habits.
