The Campaigns Lead – Opportunity Africa role is a rare senior leadership opportunity to shape and deliver one of the most ambitious narrative and branding campaigns on the African continent. This Campaigns Lead – Opportunity Africa position is designed for a strategic, execution-driven leader who understands how large-scale, multi-country campaigns are built, coordinated, and sustained over time.

Working remotely within Africa, the Campaigns Lead – Opportunity Africa will translate a bold continental vision into a cohesive, high-impact campaign that shifts mindsets, strengthens confidence, and repositions Africa globally and internally as a continent of opportunity, progress, and innovation. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, communications, partnerships, and emerging technologies, offering a powerful platform for long-term continental impact.

1. Campaigns Lead – Opportunity Africa (Remote – 1 Post)

Brief Overview:
The Campaigns Lead will drive the design, coordination, and delivery of the Opportunity Africa campaign, ensuring strategic coherence, operational excellence, and measurable narrative and visibility impact across Africa and globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the design, coordination, and delivery of the Opportunity Africa campaign across multiple countries, platforms, and stakeholders.
  • Manage complex timelines and multiple workstreams across the five core campaign pillars.
  • Ensure alignment with the strategic intent and governance of the Campaign Fund (without fundraising responsibility).
  • Track performance through clear KPIs, learning frameworks, and narrative impact metrics to continuously strengthen delivery.
  • Lead and coordinate a Global Coalition of partners across governments, corporates, media, creatives, multilaterals, and civil society around a shared Opportunity Africa narrative.
  • Lead the development and rollout of a strong, recognisable Opportunity Africa brand and messaging architecture.
  • Oversee the creation of practical tools, assets, and toolkits that enable partners to implement and amplify the campaign consistently.
  • Work with grants teams to identify and collaborate with storytellers, influencers, and cultural leaders to expand the Opportunity Africa campaign.
  • Drive PR, earned media, thought leadership, and strategic communications to maximise reach, relevance, and impact.
  • Translate Opportunity Africa’s vision into a cohesive, high-impact campaign that delivers measurable narrative, engagement, and visibility outcomes.
  • Confidently explore, adopt, and integrate AI-driven tools and solutions to improve campaign planning, content creation, audience targeting, monitoring, and learning.
  • Work with technical partners where required and use data and insights to inform strategy and decision-making.

Requirements for Appointment / Qualifications

Essential

  • Proven track record and 10+ years’ experience leading or managing large-scale campaigns, movements, or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Strong background in communications, brand, advocacy, or narrative-driven campaigns.
  • Proven experience working across multiple partners, geographies, and sectors.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, project management, and coordination skills.
  • Deep understanding of Africa’s corporate, brand, and marketing landscape.
  • Ability to operate with confidence at senior stakeholder level.

Desirable

  • Experience working with or alongside governments, multilaterals, or large institutions.
  • Experience managing influencers, creators, or cultural leaders.
  • Comfort working in fast-moving, entrepreneurial organisations.
