YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES IN DETAIL

1. Building and Nurturing Healthcare Relationships

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with pharmacists, pharmacy owners, retail chains, clinics, hospitals, and other medical institutions
  • Be the trusted liaison and representative of Shalina products to key accounts within Nairobi
  • Execute customer engagement strategies to increase satisfaction, loyalty, and repeat orders

2. Achieving Sales Objectives

  • Consistently meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets for assigned products and zones
  • Maintain accurate territory records, visit schedules, and customer interaction reports
  • Track and analyze customer purchase patterns, develop action plans to increase sales, and improve product adoption rates

3. Product Promotion & Demonstration

  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of assigned products, including dosage forms, ingredients, contraindications, side effects, and comparative advantages over competitors
  • Conduct product detailing sessions with pharmacists and healthcare providers
  • Execute product launch strategies, training programs, and customer education seminars as part of brand activation campaigns

4. Territory Management & Field Work

  • Plan daily, weekly, and monthly sales routes to maximize client outreach
  • Conduct in-field product promotion visits with targeted frequency and reach goals
  • Report on sales performance, competitor activities, and market trends through CRM tools and dashboards

5. Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Collect data on market dynamics, competitor pricing, distribution activities, and customer preferences
  • Share insights with the management team to help adapt market strategies and maintain a competitive edge
  • Provide weekly reports, customer feedback summaries, and field highlights to the National Sales Manager

6. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence

  • Ensure all promotional activities and communications are aligned with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) regulations
  • Follow ethical selling practices in line with industry standards and company policies
  • Report any adverse effects or product complaints through the appropriate pharmacovigilance channels

PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Academic Background

  • A Bachelor’s or Diploma in a Science-related discipline, preferably Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Biomedical Sciences

Sales & Communication Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in pharmaceutical, medical, or B2B field sales
  • Demonstrated success in meeting sales targets and working independently on the field
  • Strong ability to articulate product features to both technical (pharmacists, doctors) and non-technical (retail staff) audiences

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SHALINA SALES REP

  1. Check your daily sales goals and CRM call plan

  3. Start field visits with pre-planned route: Hospital → Pharmacy → Clinic → Distributor
  4. Present latest products and offers, address stock gaps, and upsell higher-margin SKUs
  5. Record feedback, generate quick quotes or orders, and capture data in CRM
  6. Follow up via WhatsApp or SMS with clients who requested pricing information or delayed confirmation
