Key Responsibilities

1. Regional Sales Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement a regional sales plan aligned with organizational goals, growth targets, and territory dynamics.
  • Lead territory mapping and segmentation to maximize market penetration and identify untapped areas.
  • Design regional initiatives that enhance Mini Bakeries’ market share across urban and peri-urban settings.

2. Market Intelligence and Expansion Planning

  • Conduct in-depth market research to track consumer trends, competitor activities, and local retail shifts.
  • Provide actionable insights to headquarters for tailoring product offerings and promotional strategies.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities, channel diversification, and geographic expansion opportunities.

3. Distribution Network Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key retail clients.
  • Create efficient distribution systems that ensure consistent product availability and shelf presence.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to improve delivery cycles and optimize transportation costs.

4. Sales Team Leadership and Performance Oversight

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of Area Sales Managers and field sales representatives.
  • Implement KPIs and performance monitoring systems to track sales productivity.
  • Lead staff evaluations, disciplinary actions, and team-building initiatives to promote a culture of accountability.

5. Revenue Growth and Target Management

  • Drive consistent revenue growth by introducing aggressive sales tactics and incentive programs.
  • Set quarterly and annual sales targets based on regional forecasts and historical performance.
  • Develop and execute corrective action plans when targets are not being met.

6. Strategic Partnerships and Key Accounts

  • Conduct regular business reviews with top distributors to analyze performance and explore joint growth strategies.
  • Negotiate win-win terms and conditions to strengthen partner loyalty and long-term collaboration.
  • Expand product visibility in modern trade channels and high-volume traditional markets.

7. Reporting and Compliance

  • Implement systems for data-driven decision-making and continuous performance improvement.

Qualifications and Skills

Academic and Professional Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ sales experience in FMCG, preferably with multi-regional responsibilities.
  • At least 3 years’ team leadership experience, managing remote or geographically dispersed teams.

Technical and Digital Skills

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, sales analytics software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Competency in market mapping tools and data visualization platforms is an advantage.

Core Competencies

  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Track record of exceeding sales targets and growing market share.
  • Analytical mindset with practical execution capability.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Kiswahili or Luganda is a plus.
