KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional Support and Learning Delivery
- Plan and deliver classroom instruction under the guidance of the lead teacher to ensure effective learning aligned with CBC expectations
- Assist in the creation of lesson plans, worksheets, and teaching aids that are interactive, inclusive, and suitable for diverse learners
- Support differentiated learning activities to cater to individual learner needs and promote inclusive education
- Use modern, learner-centered teaching strategies such as project-based learning, group work, and digital integration
Student Engagement and Development
- Encourage student independence and confidence by fostering self-directed learning habits and a growth mindset
- Support students with behavioral, emotional, or learning needs under teacher supervision, offering additional attention when needed
- Establish a nurturing and respectful classroom environment that supports social-emotional growth and discipline
- Implement positive behavioral strategies and maintain classroom control respectfully and effectively
Curriculum Implementation and Support
- Assist with implementing the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) by preparing necessary documentation and contributing ideas during lesson planning
- Participate in curriculum development workshops and planning sessions alongside school faculty
- Develop or adapt instructional materials tailored to meet CBC outcomes and diverse student profiles
- Contribute to submission and development of Teacher Professional Documents (TPDs) as part of structured academic reporting
Assessment and Student Progress Monitoring
- Conduct learner assessments and classroom observations to gauge academic progress and behavior
- Record and track assessment data to identify student learning gaps and progress
- Engage in student documentation processes, including reports and progress reviews for academic and behavioral tracking
- Attend parent-teacher meetings and provide meaningful updates on students’ classroom engagement and learning milestones
Team Collaboration and School Culture
- Participate in faculty meetings, co-curricular activities, and school events as an active member of the teaching staff
- Collaborate with other teacher assistants and faculty to ensure lesson continuity, share resources, and support collective school objectives
- Support school-wide activities and contribute to creating a culture of teamwork, inclusivity, and excellence
- Display student work and celebrate achievements to encourage pride, motivation, and creativity among learners
Professional Conduct and Development
- Attend professional development sessions, internal training, and external CBC workshops organized or recommended by the school

- Demonstrate enthusiasm for ongoing learning and actively seek feedback from senior educators to improve teaching skills

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Education or Early Childhood Development (ECD) from a recognized institution
- Graduated within the past 24 months (recent graduate status is essential for internship eligibility)
- One (1) year of verifiable teaching or internship experience with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC)
- Excellent communication skills — both verbal and written — with fluency in English and Swahili
- Demonstrated willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow professionally

- Teaching certification or TSC registration, if applicable (will be an added advantage)
