Key Responsibilities

• Maintain Fleet Operations: Oversee the entire vehicle fleet, scheduling timely maintenance, service, and repairs while keeping comprehensive records.
• Ensure Compliance: Monitor vehicle registration, insurance, TLB licenses, and other regulatory documentation to ensure all vehicles remain fully compliant with Kenya’s transportation laws.
• Fuel Management: Implement effective fuel management strategies, closely monitoring usage patterns to enhance efficiency and cost control.
• Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety checks, ensuring vehicles meet safety standards and are equipped with operational first aid kits.
• Incident Management: Handle all accident reports, insurance claims, and coordinate with relevant authorities, including NTSA and traffic police.
• Driver Oversight: Manage recruitment, training, and supervision of drivers, ensuring that all hold valid and current licenses, and uphold high standards of discipline and performance.
• Optimize Routes: Plan and manage transportation routes to ensure timely and cost-effective movement of staff and goods.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop contingency and emergency response plans in collaboration with senior management.
• Training Delivery: Train the transport team on staff safety precautions, emergency preparedness, and transportation protocols.
• Administrative Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed reports on vehicle status, driver performance, incidents, and transportation efficiency for management review.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
• Experience: 3-5 years in fleet management, transport coordination, or similar transportation roles.
• Fleet Expertise: Proven experience in managing large vehicle fleets, drivers, and route planning with an emphasis on operational efficiency.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of NTSA regulations, safety standards, licensing procedures, and compliance obligations.
• Claims Management: Familiarity with accident investigations, traffic-related incidents, and insurance claims processing.
• IT Proficiency: Competent in fleet management software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Leadership: Effective leadership and staff supervision skills, including the ability to train, motivate, and maintain discipline.
• Organizational Abilities: Excellent multitasking, planning, and administrative skills.
