1. Operations and Maintenance Assistant II / Plumber III – 1 Post

Job Grade: OLWASCO 9

Key Responsibilities

Assist in daily repair, maintenance, and installation of water pipeline systems
Carry out routine inspections and report faults in water supply lines
Ensure customer water reconnections and disconnections are done efficiently
Maintain proper usage logs of tools, fittings, and spare parts
Support water loss reduction activities and leak detection tasks

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

KCSE Certificate (Minimum D plain)
Artisan Certificate or Plumbing Grade III qualification from a recognized institution
At least 1 year of experience in pipe fitting or waterworks maintenance
Basic knowledge of plumbing tools, health, and safety practices
Good communication and teamwork skills

2. Operations and Maintenance Assistant II / Plumber II – 1 Post

Job Grade: OLWASCO 8

Key Responsibilities

Perform installation, repair, and troubleshooting of water infrastructure
Supervise minor plumbing teams or community water project works
Maintain asset inventories related to field service tools and vehicles
Prepare simple technical maintenance reports for assigned sites
Respond promptly to field breakdowns and emergency calls

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

KCSE Certificate (Minimum D+)
Artisan Certificate or Plumbing Grade II
2+ years of field experience in pipework installation and maintenance
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct
Fluency in Kiswahili and basic written English

3. Operations and Maintenance Assistant / Plumber I – 1 Post

Job Grade: OLWASCO 7

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily technical field operations within an assigned zone
Lead junior plumbing staff and coordinate job card execution
Conduct pressure testing, meter installations, and pipeline upgrades
Implement safety procedures and ensure work area compliance
Prepare accurate work reports and usage logs

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

KCSE Certificate (Minimum C-)
Diploma in Water Engineering, Plumbing Technology, or equivalent
Minimum 3 years’ experience in large-scale water utility systems
Familiarity with GIS mapping and water distribution standards
Demonstrated leadership in team-based assignments

4. Planning and Design Officer – 1 Post

Job Grade: OLWASCO 4

Key Responsibilities

Prepare engineering designs, drawings, and BoQs for water and sanitation projects
Analyze technical data to develop infrastructure improvement proposals
Participate in feasibility studies and prepare investment plans
Monitor compliance with national construction codes and environmental standards
Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and local government on project planning

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in engineering design/planning
Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPANET, and MS Project
Registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) or under application
Strong analytical and technical report writing skills

5. Electromechanical Technician – 1 Post

Job Grade: OLWASCO 6

Key Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain pumps, motors, and control panels
Conduct regular preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
Maintain generators, chlorination systems, and backup systems
Ensure all electrical installations comply with KPLC and OSHA regulations
Diagnose faults using electronic testing equipment

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Diploma in Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics, or Mechatronics
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in utility-based operations or industrial setups
Good understanding of pump technologies, solar power systems, and VFDs
Ability to interpret technical diagrams and maintenance schedules
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct

6. Mechanic / Driver III – 1 Post

Job Grade: OLWASCO 6

Key Responsibilities

Perform regular mechanical repairs on OLWASCO fleet vehicles and motorcycles
Drive company vehicles safely and ensure logbooks are maintained
Assist in garage scheduling and procurement of spares
Conduct vehicle diagnostics and report mechanical faults
Maintain cleanliness and service standards for all company automobiles

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

KCSE Certificate (Minimum D+)
Artisan Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics
Valid Driving License (Class BCE)
3+ years of driving and mechanical experience in a corporate setup
Strong discipline and working knowledge of NTSA and traffic rules

7. Procurement Officer II – 1 Post

Job Grade: OLWASCO 5

Key Responsibilities

Manage procurement records and supplier databases in accordance with PPADA
Prepare purchase requisitions, RFQs, LPOs, and coordinate deliveries
Liaise with departments to forecast procurement needs
Participate in tender committees and procurement planning
Ensure timely reporting of procurement activities to management

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Professional certification from KISM or CIPS is an added advantage
At least 2 years’ experience in public procurement or WASH sector
Proficient in MS Office and ERP procurement modules
Knowledge of Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (PPADA) 2015
