Key Responsibilities
- Framework Development:
- Develop and implement the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Compliance Programs to mitigate organizational risks.
- Oversee the policy management cycle, including policy development by departments and maintenance of the authority’s policies catalogue.
- Risk Oversight:
- Manage the end-to-end risk management process, collaborating with Senior Management to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks across all functions and stakeholders (Regulators, Partners, Customers, Suppliers, General Public, employees).
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the organization’s risk profile database, ensuring accurate risk documentation.
- Ethical Conduct:
- Provide oversight on socializing the Code of Ethical Conduct, implementing initiatives to uphold an ethics culture and protect the authority’s reputation.
- Support the annual review of risk appetite and tolerance levels in collaboration with Senior Management.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor the adequacy and effectiveness of risk treatment plans, ensuring accurate and complete reporting of corporate risks.
- Provide guidance and training on risk management processes to build capacity and socialize risk culture among staff.
- Compliance and Assurance:
- Oversee adherence to external regulatory requirements and internal policy guidelines across the organization.
- Provide risk resilience assurance to the Board, articulating risk appetite and ensuring strategies align with stipulated limits.
- Emergent Risk Management:
- Support management in identifying emergent trends and risks, conducting assessments to mitigate material risks and seize opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field from a recognized institution; Master’s degree in a Business-related field is required.
- Professional Certification: Certification in Risk and Compliance Management (e.g., PRMIA, GARP, IARCP, ICPAK, IIA, IRM) with active membership in good standing.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in Risk Management and Compliance in a regulated, dynamic environment, with 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role; experience in managing an Ethics monitoring framework is essential.
- Training: Management course lasting not less than 4 weeks from a recognized institution.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in risk assessment tools, policy development, and compliance monitoring systems.
- Knowledge of aviation industry regulations and standards is an advantage.
