Key Responsibilities of a Data Analytics Intern in Nairobi
As a Data Analytics Intern in Nairobi, you will work closely with the analytics, technology, and operations teams to support ongoing data initiatives and drive improvements in reporting, dashboards, and performance tracking. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and organizing data from various internal systems including smart meter readings, transaction logs, and customer records.
- Prepare accurate and well-structured spreadsheets using Excel or Google Sheets, utilizing formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and conditional formatting.
- Support the creation of visual dashboards to communicate insights to internal stakeholders, leveraging BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio.
- Participate in exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, anomalies, and correlations in customer usage and operational metrics.
- Generate routine and ad-hoc performance reports, helping the leadership team understand key performance indicators (KPIs) such as customer churn, gas consumption trends, and delivery efficiency.
- Conduct simple SQL queries to extract data from the organization’s databases, assisting in both project-specific and ongoing reporting needs.
- Document data processes and findings, maintaining a clean audit trail for all analyses and ensuring reproducibility.
- Support data integrity checks, verifying the accuracy and consistency of automated data flows and flagging inconsistencies for resolution.
